It is the Sunday before I leave. I am a twitter with excitement, exhaustion, and fear. Reports of demonstrations and bombings in Cairo have surfed the news this week. One part of me chooses not to look out of fear, one part of me chooses the ego response "Bring it on, I will be fine", one part of me simply doesn't have the time to engage with the other two.
Reading The Cross and the Switchblade about Dave Wilkerson's journey to 1950's New York City to work with the gangs bolsters my knowledge yet causes question "do I have something to offer Egyptian young people burdened heavily with heroin addiction?" This time next week, I will be on the cusp of finding out.
